Complete Jawbreaker Page: Lyrics and Songs

Pack It Up
Originally recorded by the Pretenders on their II LP.
Bivouac CD, Chesterfield King 12"

You guys are the pits of the world.

And I'm asking what is left to do?
And I'm feeling it's been done before.
Referential, hey that's the guy from all those movies.
Referential, hey that's the riff from that old song.

Don't play Busy, Imaginary,
Incomplete and Seethruskin,
Drone and Gutless,
Wound and Mean Guy.
Equalized is overrated.

Yeah.

Don't play Busy, Imaginary,
Incomplete and Seethruskin,
Drone and Gutless,
Wound and Mean Guy.
Equalized is overrated.
(2x)

Sorry.
Overrated. I think so.
But then again... Who does?
Bye.

Notes:
Jawbreaker performed the cover live in 1990 with seemingly improvised lyrics. When it was recorded and released on the Chesterfield King 12", the entire song was basically rewritten - it retains only the main guitar riff.
The line "But then again... Who does?" spoken by Blake at the end of the song is probably a reference to Edward James Olmos's character in the movie Blade Runner.
