According to the Moons page, "The Moons are back in business." I'll post any show dates or releases that might appear in the future.
Horace Pinker will also be back in the studio shortly to record some new material - no info on a release date yet.

The Jets to Brazil EP for Bed Pan Records is merely hearsay ... or so I hear. They'll be touring Europe in the near future, though.

I have been getting lots of e-mails lately regarding the release date of the forthcoming Jawbreaker rarities and b-sides compilation. I really can't confirm any information, but I have heard that the release will be only one CD rather than two, primarily due to the less-than-stellar sound quality of some of the proposed songs to be included. The newest release date I've heard is early 2001.

The new J Church record with Adam Pfahler on drums, entitled "One Mississippi" (on Honest Don's) will be out on July 18 - CD and double vinyl. This is their first studio full-length since 1996, so be on the lookout. You can hear a song off it at the Honest Don's link above - great power-pop-punk, always quality!
On a side note, mp3s from a promo cd of the latest Jets to Brazil LP, "Four Cornered Night," have been appearing on various web and FTP sites. Jade Tree has asked most of them to take down the files, but a handful of people undoubtedly downloaded the mp3s for a sneak preview. I can't give out addresses or mp3s, but if you look hard, you'll probably find them. Napster, anyone? Here is the track listing of the promo - take note that the sequencing could be different on the final release, and that some of these song titles are probably incorrect.
1) You're Having the Time of My Life (3:26)
2) One Summer Last Fall (5:03)
3) Air Traffic Control (2:45)
4) Pale New Dawn (4:59)
5) In the Summers when You (6:17)
6) Empty Picture Frame (3:59)
7) Little Light (3:39)
8) Your X-Rays (4:18)
9) Milk and Apples (2:54)
10) Mid-Day Anonymous (4:01)
11) (null) (1:23)
12) Orange Rhyming Dictionary (5:48)
13) All Things Good and Nice (5:32)
I have heard the songs. I'll say that "Four Cornered Night" is heavy on keys, strings, acoustic guitars, epic song lengths, and a good dose of Beatles pop. If that's your bag, then you'll have a field day.

Sorry if this is old news by now, but Horace Pinker has a new EP with Chris Bauermeister. It's on Cold Front records and is called "Copper Regret."
04 Jun. 2000
The news Jets to Brazil LP, entitled "Four Cornered Night," will be out on August 15, but you can preorder it from Jade Tree starting July 17. The label has provided a sound clip of the song "You're Having the Time of My Life" - click here to go to index page, then scroll down to upcoming releases.

Here's an update from Adam (copied from his e-mail - please don't e-mail him through me, as he is not directly affiliated with this page):
MAY 5, 2000
BLACKBALL RECORDS UPDATE:
It's Adam again -- just now getting this mailing list together. I heard recently there's some kind of Jawbreaker message board. Does anyone know the location? I'd like to get other people on the list who might be interested in this stuff...
I'm still putting out the Jawbreaker b-sides/comp/split/unreleased album. It will contain all of the songs we ever bothered to put out and then some -- including unreleased songs from Bivouac, 24 Hour Revenge Therapy and Dear You. There will be vinyl -- double with a gatefold. I re-mastered 23 songs in LA last month and am now in the process of sequencing and editing. Blake and Chris and I are doing song-by-song liner notes. The art is in the works. October release?
In other news, Unfun (Shredder, 1990) has just been re-released on CD in a digipac (the ones without the ever-shattering plastic jewel case). The art had been restored and features photos and written text from the original vinyl LP. Sounds just like it always has, but it looks better and that's all that really matters anyway.
What else...Blake just finished the second Jets To Brazil album. Chris played on Horace Pinker's EP -- both will be out this summer. I recorded a double album with J Church that will be out in July on Honest Don's. We'll probably do some touring in August and September.
That's it. I'll let you know when I get a definite release date and send along any relevant news as it happens. Be good, A
