Booklet contains the following text regarding Jawbreaker:
"It was a wet Tuesday in San Francisco's Mission District when the call
came through. A young entrepreneur in Plano, Texas was putting together a
tribute record to the now legendary rock outfit REM. Naturally the young
fine men of Jawbreaker first approached the project with some ambivalence.
What could they, as young fine men, possibly contribute to the REM canon?
Did the world need another tribute record, and by affiliating themselves
with the project could Jawbreaker stand to lose their status as fine young
men? What the hell was Stipe saying, anyway? True to from the band drew
together in the face of peril, conscrpted the services fo Billy Anderson,
and put their passion to wax. Industry fold are already speculating that
the band's real ace in the hole was their inclusion of one of rock's "ten
most wanted": a man caled Sumatra. Contractual negotations with Sumatra's
agent, Mowdigly, went swiftly, and the discreet Lear Shuttle was arranged
to bring the young maverick in from his native Hawaii. The jet landed
uneventually on the Sycamore St. helipad, much ot the awe of local
residents, where Sumatra was quickly defriefed and driven to the sessions.
The rest, as they say, is history. -- Randy Telemacher, Super Genius"
